The Art-in-Science Exhibition provides a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity and artistry at the ITherm 2026 conference in Orlando, FL, and through the ITherm network. The Exhibition will run through the course of the conference and outstanding submissions will also be featured on the ITherm LinkedIn page, printed material and on the ITherm website.

The Art-in-Science event is open to the entire thermal community and does not need to be related to conference paper submissions.

We invite you to submit your artwork in the following themes related to the conference and thermal and thermo-mechanical phenomena. Alternate themes may also be suggested in the submission form.

  • 25th Anniversary of ITherm
  • Photos (micro, macro, IR, PIV, SEM, etc.)
  • Art (drawings, sketches, paintings, etc.)
  • Technical output (CFD outputs, FEA, plots, etc.)

Submissions will be judged and awarded at the conference and outstanding student submissions will also be eligible for student travel grants.

Key Notes (please read):

  • This submission need not be tied to papers submitted to the conference. Images from your paper(s) may however be submitted as an Art-in-Science entry.  
  • You may submit more than one art print.
  • Use of AI to create, remix or modify your work is permitted, but must be clearly indicated. Use of AI does not disqualify from awards.  
  • The submission must be your original creation and must not under copyright elsewhere.
  • By submitting this art, you give permission to the ITherm conference to reproduce it in printed material, signage, on website and in social media for the purposes of advertising the conference. You will be acknowledged whenever possible/reasonable.
  • Submission does not restrict creator from re-using or publishing their art in other forums and venues.  
  • Attendance at the Exhibition is strongly encouraged. If you are unable to attend in-person, the art print can be sent to the conference for display. 
  • For the submission to be complete, you must submit the art-print file. You may fill out and submit the form and upload the art-print later by the deadline.
  • File requirements:
    • Less than 50MB in size
    • JPEG or PDF format
    • CMYK palette recommended, RGB is acceptable
    • Must be reproducible at high quality when printed up to 3′ x 4′ (>200 DPI or vector based graphics recommended)
    • Must not contain watermarks
